Recognition: A Question of Culture? My good friend Christophe Laval, CRP is Rideau’s newest member of our Board of Directors.
I first met Christophe in 2008 at a Recognition Professionals International conference in Newport, California. At the time, I was on RPI's Board and was asked to welcome a gentleman from Paris who was studying to become a Certified Recognition Professional. Actually, our very first international CRP candidate! That turned out to be my lucky day… for not only did I meet a new colleague, but I met a kindred spirit who has become a personal friend.
Christophe is the President and Founder of VPHR, a French consulting firm that specializes in recognition and employee well-being. He also authored the bestselling book Plaidoyer pour la reconnaissance au travail (A Plea for Recognition in the Workplace) and has written in many prestigious journals that specialize in the human resources field.
Christophe’s latest article “Is Employee Recognition a Cultural Question?” was recently published in French in HEC Montreal’s Gestion magazine.
Christophe becomes Rideau’s first European Board member as well as our second member whose primary language is not English.
Oh, BTW… did I mention that Christophe knows a thing or two about great food and, perhaps more importantly, great French wine?
