Recognition Management Institute Benefits 8

(Montreal, QC and New York, NY May 3, 2011) As a strong supporter of recognition professionals, Recognition Management Institute (RMI) is a long-time sponsor of Recognition Professionals International (RPI) and their annual conferences. The RPI 14th Annual Conference was held in San Antonio, Texas May 1 – 4 and Recognition Management Institute was once again the sponsor of gifts to the conference’s speakers.

Each year that Recognition Management Institute has sponsored the RPI conference speaker gifts, they’ve tied greater significance to the gift itself by connecting it to a local cause, and giving a monetary donation to a related charity. Recognition Management Institute is dedicated to making an impactful difference in the lives of others by building relationships and inspiring greatness. On behalf of each of RPI’s conference speakers Recognition Management Institute gave a monetary donation to San Antonio Youth Literacy.

RMI President, Roy Saunderson (right in photo) and RPI President, Kevin Cronin, presented this year’s donation to San Antonio Youth Literacy Executive Director, Patricia Medina, on Tuesday, May 3 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.

With an illiteracy rate of 12.5%, 1 in 8 San Antonio adults can’t read this message. The mission of San Antonio Youth Literacy is to promote the literacy skills of San Antonio’s at-risk youth.
The donation will cover the costs to sponsor eight children for an entire school year, and will also pay for the training of four Volunteer Reading Tutors. This gift will make an appreciable difference in the literacy skills of children who struggle with reading.

Each of the RPI conference speakers also received a handsomely bound journal embossed with the definition of real recognition.
                           re·al rec·og·ni·tion (ˈrē(-ə)l re-kig-ˈni-shən)

Appreciate people for who they are; recognize them for what they do.

Past RMI donations include:

2010, Henderson, NV:  RMI chose Opportunity Village as the local charity for the RPI conference speaker gift and once again donated funds in the name of each speaker. Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. Through Opportunity Village’s programs and services, well over a thousand people with disabilities are learning vocational skills, working in jobs throughout the community and living more fulfilling lives.  Each of the RPI speakers also received a framed original painting from Opportunity Village’s art enrichment program. One-half of the cost of each painting goes directly to the artist, the other half to the art enrichment program. http://www.opportunityvillage.org/index.php
