Rideau Employees Awarded Spotlight Awards

(Montreal, QC and New York, NY May 4, 2011) Rideau Recognition Solutions proudly announces that three employees were awarded Spotlight Awards by Recognition Professionals International (RPI) at its 14th Annual Conference in San Antonio, May 1 – 4. Receiving awards were:
  • Christi Gibson, CRP, Director, Strategic Development at Rideau
  • Roy Saunderson, CRP, President of Recognition Management Institute , A Rideau Division
  • Barbara Ruddy, CRP, senior consultant and trainer for RMI
The Spotlight Award is presented annually to those RPI members who have gone above and beyond in supporting the organization throughout the year. In presenting the award to Christi Gibson, RPI president, Kevin Cronin, praised her as “highly professional, creative, insightful, and always committed to excellence.” A few of her contributions to RPI’s work include serving as a member of the 2011 conference planning committee, the conference education task team, and organizing  this year’s partnership with the San Antonio Literacy Project. 

“I am truly honored to receive such notable recognition from RPI, a distinguished association solely dedicated to employee recognition,” said Christi Gibson.

Roy Saunderson, Founder and President of the Recognition Management Institute, was awarded his second Spotlight Award. As an original RPI Certified CRP Facilitator, RPI recognized his generous contribution of time and expertise in assisting the CRP’s Facilitators Group and in the revision of the CRP program’s curricula.

“Being recognized by one’s peers along with my colleagues is very meaningful. For me, this is truly “real recognition,” stated Roy Saunderson (2nd from left), RMI President.

Barbara Ruddy (4th from left), received her second Spotlight award for her work in delivering and revising all four of the CRP training modules. Leading to the Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) designation, the four module training program provides recognition professionals with a common knowledge base and contributes to maintaining high ethical and performance standards for the field. Barbara also worked with this year's conference planning committee, and was the Chairperson for the Recognition Champion in Honor of Pamela Sabin Award Program, awarded to practitioners who further the use of accountable and effective recognition strategies in their organizations. 

Speaking after the ceremony, Barbara Ruddy responded that "(i)t is truly an honor to receive this award. I am proud to be involved with RPI, working with my colleagues to promote employee engagement and performance improvement through workforce recognition."
