Laura Hillenbrand’s book about Louis Zamperini titled Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption has been #1 on the NYT Bestseller list for six weeks, tying it with her previous work Seabiscuit and is optioned by Universal Pictures. Louie, as he likes to be called, was an Olympic athlete at the Games in Berlin when Hitler was in power. World War II broke out & Louie joined the U.S. Air Corps as a bombardier. On a routine search mission over the Pacific his plane crashed. After surviving in a life raft, drifting 2,000 miles for 47 days into Japanese controlled waters, he faced his rescuers who were also his torturers, & suffered the remainder of the war in a series of prison camps. This is the 1st interview with both Louie and Laura together.
