The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (abbreviated PIPEDA or PIPED Act) is a Canadian law relating to data privacy. It governs how private-sector organizations collect, use and disclose personal information in the course of commercial business.

By becoming certified, Rideau agrees to obtain consent when it collects, uses or discloses personal information for its awards, rewards, customer loyalty, and recognition programs.

We agree to supply an individual with a product or a service even if they refuse consent for the collection, use or disclosure of their personal information unless that information is essential to the transaction.

We will collect information by fair and lawful means.

We agree to maintain personal information policies that are clear, understandable and readily available.
